Hot? It was so hot I watched a lizard crawl into the campfire just to get in the shade of the skillet.
Mark your calendars for Lawrence Bicycle Club’s Lizard Under the Skillet, a hot day of supported road cycling on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Riders may start anytime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. from Broken Arrow Park, 2800 Louisiana St. in Lawrence – no mass start – and the course closes at 3 p.m. Plan to stick around and celebrate afterward with a cool, sweet treat from Cold Stone Creamery (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.) as part of your paid registration.

This year’s routes include our usual 30-, 40- and 60-mile (metric century) options, plus a bonus 50-mile option. All routes are on paved roads. LBC will provide SAG stops on all routes. Links for route maps are included below. Select the ‘Export’ tab at the top right to download .fit, .tcx, and .gpx course files.
Distances to and open / close times for SAGS are included in Lizard2018 SAG Distances and Times. Please note SAG times and plan accordingly. Faster riders who ride a shorter route — the 52-mile route, for example — could find themselves arriving before the SAG opens if they start too early.

Registered riders will receive an email with additional details about the route after online registrations closes.
