Hot? It was so hot I watched a lizard crawl into the campfire just to get in the shade of the skillet.
Mark your calendars for Lawrence Bicycle Club’s 2019 Lizard Under the Skillet, a hot day of supported road cycling on Sunday, July 14, 2019. Riders may start anytime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. from Broken Arrow Park, 2800 Louisiana St. in Lawrence – no mass start – and the course closes at 3 p.m. Plan to stick around and celebrate afterward with a cool, sweet treat from Cold Stone Creamery (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.) as part of your paid registration.
Not sure if you’ll have fun? Check out photos from last year’s ride available at Mike Yoder’s website.
Registration will be available starting in May. Register early and reserve your 2019 Lizard t-shirt!
On-site registration and check-in for registered riders will be available Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Cycle Works, 2121 Kasold Dr. (anticipated), or on the day of the ride, Sunday, July 14, from 6–8 a.m., at Broken Arrow Park, 2800 Louisiana St.
We anticipate this year’s route will include our usual 30-, 40- and 60-mile (metric century) options, plus a bonus 50-mile option. All routes are on paved roads. LBC will provide SAG stops on all routes. Registered riders will receive an email with details about the route after online registrations closes.
Come ride the Lizard in July!
