Mark your calendars for Octoginta 50, October 12-13, 2019, in Lawrence, Kansas! This year’s ride will feature a metric century option in addition to the traditional 80-mile route and a shorter 40-mile option. Also new this year is a gravel ride option for all you gravel grinders out there. Following tradition, we will also offer a relaxing Tour de County ride on Saturday.

Register now and reserve your 2019 Octoginta long-sleeved t-shirt! $35 early registration price and t-shirt pre-orders ($15) available through September 16. Regular registration $45 after September 16. T-shirts may be available day of ride for $25 on a first-come, first-served basis. This year’s shirt is an ultra-cotton fabric in black, comes in men’s and women’s sizes, and has the LBC logo on the back.
Your ride registration includes
- Marked routes
- Roving support vehicle for assistance when required
- SAG stops every 10-20 miles with water, fruit, and snacks
- Breakfast at SAG 1 staffed by Sunflower Outdoor and Bike Shop
- Mechanical support provided by Cycle Works bike shop

Saturday, October 12
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Rider check-in and on-site registration at the South Park gazebo, 1198 Massachusetts St. Beat the Sunday morning rush!
9:30 a.m. Tour de County
This 30-mile round-trip ride through pastoral Douglas County departs from South Park at 11th and Massachusetts Street, with a SAG at the halfway point. Ride day registration begins at 8:30 a.m., or register online. Fee: $5.
Sunday, October 13th
7 a.m. – Ride-day rider check-in and registration at South Park at 11th and Massachusetts Street.
No mass start this year – we’ve decided to give riders more flexibility as to a starting time. Once registered (or checked in if pre-registered), riders can leave anytime between 7:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Those doing the 80-mile ride are encouraged to start by 8:30 a.m.
Lunch will be served following the ride at South Park. Be sure to join us for a burger or brat and a glass of beer from a few of the local breweries. In keeping with tradition, we’ll even offer you a cup of soup.
