The Rise & Grind is a Saturday morning weekly gravel ride starting at 9:00 am from varying locations in Lawrence. Plan to show up at 8:45 am to be ready to roll at 9:00! Some gravel-riding and hill climbing ability is strongly recommended. Two route options are available: Coarse Grind (35+ mile) and a Medium Grind (25+ mile). Coarse Grind riders generally average 13-15 mph, with 3-4 short regrouping/resting points. Participants in the Medium Grind should be able to sustain a minimum average speed of 11-12 mph between 3-4 short regrouping/resting points. These are both no drop rides; however, riders should be confident in maintaining the minimum average paces as stated.
