What better way to beat the heat than to come to Lawrence, Kansas, and ride the Lizard Under the Skillet. Yes, July is hot! How hot is it? “It was so hot I watched a lizard crawl into the campfire just to get in the shade of the skillet”.
All new routes are available this year, varying in length ranging from 30-65 miles. The routes include lightly traveled paved roads with great SAG stops every 10-15 miles. The course will be well-marked and mechanical support will be available from Cycle Works, TREK Lawrence and Sunflower Outdoor and Bike Shop. Additional safety support will be provided this year by the KC Ham Radio Operators.
Riders may start anytime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. at Broken Arrow Park, Lawrence, Kansas, with the course closing at 3 p.m. Rider check-in will be required this year and packet pickup will be available both on the day before the ride (July 20) at Cycle Works, or prior to the ride at Broken Arrow on the 21st.
After the ride, folks can enjoy cooling down with gelato and sorbetto, chocolate chip cookies and soft drinks. Ice-cold cooling towels will also be provided at Broken Arrow Park shelter house.

Early Bird (through June 1) Members: $35 Non-Members: $45
Regular (June 2- July 15) Members: $40 Non-Members: $50
After July 15 for all registrants: $55
T-shirts are available for purchase for $15 prior to 6/24/2024 (registration does not include a T-shirt). No T-shirts will be available for purchase after the 24th. Packet pickup for all riders will be available at Cycle Works on Saturday, July 20th, from 1-4 pm. or the day of the ride.
Downloadable GPS/Routes/Maps/Cuesheets will be provided one week prior to the ride.
